Trevor Clark, Madison Capital co-founder, will be joining Angelo, Gordon & Co to launch a middle-market, direct-lending business.
Trevor Clark, along with Chris Williams, founded the direct-lending business at Madison Capital, which is a division of insurance giant New York Life. Both are joining Angelo Gordon, and will be based in Chicago as of the first quarter of 2015. Clark and Williams will both act as managing directors of the firm.
The new division will focus its direct-lending business on companies with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) between $3 million and $50 million. This function will be coordinated in collaboration with Angelo Gordon’s corporate team.
During Clark’s tenure at Madison Capitol Funding, he was in charge of all operational and strategic activities of the mid-market lending division. Williams role at Madison was as the head of the executive committee whose specialty was lending.
